Minnesota scores 3 in the 7th and 4 in the 8th to overtake the Angels, before holding on after giving up 2 runs in the 9th. Joe Mauer goes 3-for-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs, sparking the Twins' rally with a 3-run HR in the 5th that cuts the gap to 6-3.

Minnesota ties it with 3 runs in the 7th, before giving the lead back in the top of the 8th, but Justin Morneau homers off Rich Thompson with Mauer aboard in the 8th to put the Twins ahead. Danny Valencia doubles home a run and then scores an insurance run for a 10-7 lead.
