Tanana goes the distance blanking Toronto on 6 hits as Detroit wraps up the division crown on the final day as Toronto drops its 7th straight to finish the season. Tanana walks three and strikeouts 9 as his changeup proves too much for the Jays.

Toronto is unable to backstop Jimmy Key's 3-hitter. Key is masterful, allowing only a solo HR to Larry Herndon in the 2nd. But without run support the effort is wasted.
