Phillies beat the Brewers 4-3.

Philadelphia makes a 3-run HR by Scott Rolen in the 1st inning hold up, answering when Milwaukee cuts into its lead. Rolen's shot off Cal Eldred gives the Phillies a 3-1 lead.

Carlton Loewer scatters 7 hits over 7 innings. Bobby Hughes leads off the top of 3rd with homer to the left-center power alley to cut the Philadelphia lead to 3-2. However, the Phillies come right back with an RBI double by Rico Brogna in the bottom of the inning.

John Jaha tags Loewer for a blast into the 2nd level to lead off the 7th. Mark Leiter saves it, pitching out of trouble in the 8th before a perfect 9th.
