Tigers rout the Brewers 10-3.

Detroit breaks out late to win its home opener with 8 runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Milwaukee's Bill Wegman, holding a 3-2 lead, cruised until giving up a pair of singles and then a 2-run double to Ken Williams to start the 7th.

The Tigers add another run on a Sac Fly, and then score 5 more in the 8th after a throwing error by Chuck Crim opens the door. Williams has a pair of hits and 3 RBI and Matt Nokes also has a pair of hits, including a 2-run HR.

Doyle Alexander gets the win scattering 7 hits over 7 1/3 innings.
