Games Notes

Cubs walk away with a 4-3 walk off win over the Cardinals in 11 innings.

Zach Duke walks Anthony Rizzo with the bases loaded to decide the outcome. Chicago takes the win on a night of memorable and unusual plays. St. Louis tied the game on Randal Grichuck's pinch-hit solo HR in the 7th, the Cardinals' 13th such of the season.

St. Louis led 2-0 in the 6th when Chris Coghlan's attempt to call time out was denied as Christian Martinez was in his windup, but he managed to get his second hand on the bat in time to slap a 2-run single to right. Jason Hayward scored the go-ahead run on a bunt, prompting Martinez to do some cooler destruction in the dugout afterward.
