Games Notes

Cubs rally late, beat the Cardinals 3-2 in 10 innings.

A day after letting a 7-1 lead slip away, Chicago bounces back from the emotional low with a high. Luis Salazar drives in the tying run in the bottom of the 8th and the winning run in the 10th.

The Cubs had been silent since tagging Jose DeLeon for a run in the 1st. St. Louis took the lead when Tom Brunansky singled home a run, and then scored on Jose Oquendo's single in the 6th against Rick Sutcliffe.

Chicago got a second chance when Dwight Smith led off the 8th, reaching 2nd on a single and throwing error by Brunansky. Salazar's single scores him with 2 out. In the 10th, Andre Dawson scores from first when Salazar singles into the rightfield corner.
