Angels beat the Giants 4-3.

California combines a strong start by Chuck Finley with a big inning to beat San Francisco. Finley goes 6 1/3 innings, allowing just a lone 1st inning run until departing with 2 runners on, with both scoring to cut the deficit to 4-3.

Shawn Estes is able to scatter hits and avoid damage until the bottom of the 7th when the Angels break loose. Dave Hollins and Jim Edmonds start the inning with singles before Tim Salmon doubles off the scoreboard tying the game 1-1. After Estes retires Cecil Fielder with a groundout, Garrett Anderson tags him for a 3-run HR.
