Astros rally late to beat the Giants 2-1.

Facing an almost 'must-win' situation, entering down 1 game in the NL Central, Houston gets a timely pinch hit to best Sidney Ponson and a lineup of 'irregulars' as San Francisco sits most of its regulars on a 'getaway' day. Ponson had cruised through most of the game until a 2-out rally in the bottom of the 7th.

Ponson hits Jeff Kent with 2 outs, giving the Astros a chance to erase a 1-0 deficit. Lance Berkman follows with a double giving Houston 2 runners in scoring position. After an intentional walk, pinch hitter Jose Vizcaino laces a single up the middle scoring Kent and Berkman.

Roy Oswalt quiets the Giants lineup, allowing only a solo HR to Pedro Feliz in the 2nd and a single by Feliz and another by Andres Galarraga in 8 innings. Billy Wagner tosses a perfect 9th.
