Giants rallies overcome the Cubs for a 5-4 win.

San Francisco erases a pair of deficits, winning it on Harry Spillman's pinch-hit RBI single in the top of the 9th. Chicago led 4-3 until Lee Smith allows runs in the each of the 8th and 9th, with Jeffrey Leonard singling home the tying run in the 8th.

The Cubs had opened a 2-0 lead off Mark Grant, but Jamie Moyer comes apart in the top of the 6th, allowing a pair of singles ahead of an intentional walk. The strategy backfires when Moyer walks Jose Uribe with the bases loaded. Bob Melvin follows with a 2-run single. Chicago bounces back with 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th to regain the lead.
