Brandon Crawford drives in the winning run with a single off Andrew Cashner in the 14th to break a 7-7 tie and collect his 7th hit in 8 at-bats, becoming the 1st player since Rennie Stennett in 1975 to collect 7 hits in a game, and just the 2nd since 1900. Crawford had singled in the tying run in the top of the 8th.

A stellar pitching matchup between Johnny Cueto and Jose Fernandez appeared headed Fernandez' way after he allows 6 hits and 1 run, departing after 6 with a 5-1 lead. But the Miami bullpen twice let leads slip away.
