Cubs squeeze by the Mets 5-4 in 10 innings.

Lloyd McClendon beats the throw home following Rick Wrona's pinch-hit bunt with the bases loaded in the 10th to win it for Chicago. New York had rallied from a 4-2 deficit, finally tying the game on Kevin McReynolds' solo HR off Mitch Williams in the top of the 9th.

The Cubs get to Ron Darling early, scoring single runs in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings. McClendon starts it with a solo HR in the 2nd. Dwight Smith adds an RBI single in the 3rd and McClendon scores again in the 4th when Darling botches a bunt by Mike Bielecki. However, the Mets battle back, pulling within 4-3 on Lee Mazzilli's pinch-hit RBI double in the 7th.
