Cubs erupt to beat the Mets 10-6.

Chicago digs out of a 3-0 deficit with a big outburst in the middle innings. After New York tagged Paul Kilgus for 3 runs early, the Cubs awaken with 4 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th before adding 4 more in the 8th.

Frank Viola cruises through 4 innings before the wheels come off in the 5th when Chicago starts the inning with a single and a walk ahead of Mark Grace's single that produces a pair of runs when combined with an error. Luis Salazar then adds a 2-run HR.

The Cubs add 2 more runs with small ball in the 6th before pitcher Mitch Williams caps a 4-run 8th with a 3-run HR for his 1st MLB hit.
