Minnesota breaks loose with 7 runs in the 1st inning, driving Chris Tillman from the game after recording only 2 outs. The Twins extend the lead to 11-2 before Baltimore can counter with a big inning.

The big damage comes when 2 runs score on an error by first baseman Mark Reynolds, and Denard Span adds a 3-run double in his 2nd at-bat of the 1st inning. Span goes 3-of-5 with 5 RBI, and Ben Revere and Justin Morneau each collect 4 hits.
