Eric King matches Plunk until Oakland scratches out a run in the bottom of the 7th when Ron Cey and Mickey Tettleton start the inning with a pair of singles and pinch runner Stan Javier scores on Mike Gallego's groundout. The A's stretch the lead when Jose Canseco crushes an offering from Mark Thurmond in the 8th.
