Game Notes

Tigers beat the Blue Jays 3-2 in 13 innings.

Detroit avoids a 4-game sweep with the help of a blast and a bloop by Kirk Gibson. Gibson drops a single over the infield and in front of centerfielder Lloyd Moseby, allowing Jim Walewander to score from 2nd base for the winning run.

Toronto made a 1st inning run standup behind Jim Clancy's effort, but Gibson ties it with a solo blast off Tom Henke in the bottom of the 9th. Detroit took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 11th, but after holding the Blue Jays scoreless since the 1st, Doyle Alexander cracks allowing the tying run.
