Darvish and Hamilton shake off recent struggles to spark Texas. Darvish strikes out 8 in 6 2/3 innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 runs. Darvish cruises except for a 3-run 5th that halves the Rangers 6-0 lead. Darvish regains his form and combines with the bullpen to finish off Detroit.

Hamilton's slump fades as he goes 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Hamilton's 2-run HR off Rick Porcello in the 1st sparks the Rangers. He adds an RBI single in a 3-run 3rd, and adds an insurance run scoring on a wild pitch in the 7th.
