Games Notes

Angels break out for a 9-3 win over the Twins.

California capitalizes on Minnesota miscues to take a big lead and win for just the 3rd time in 17 games, stalling a slump. Tied 2-2 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th, Jose Parra kicks the ball down the first base line opening the flood gates.

Tim Salmon follows with a single, and then Pat Meares' boots J.T. Snow's grounder to short and compounds the error with a throwing error allowing Chilli Davis to score the go-ahead run. Garrett Anderson follows with 2-run single and Dick Schofield adds an RBI-single for a 6-2 lead.

Mark Langston scatters 3 solo HRs over 7 innings for the Angels.
