Glen Rice score 34 points, hitting 8-of-12 3-pointers, to lead the Wolverines. Rice hits a 3-pointer to put Michigan ahead for good with 3:40 left and then another to extend the lead to 90-85 with 1:02 to play.

J.R. Reid leads North Carolina with 26 points after sitting the first few minutes as punishment for missing a curfew. Jeff Lebo had sparked the Tar Heels to an early lead, hitting 5 of 6 three-pointers in the first 11 minutes.
