Georgia Tech knocks out the region's top seed on Dennis Scott's off-balance shot with :08 left. The Jackets had forced OT on Kenny Anderson's controversial jump shot at the buzzer. TV replays seemed to indicate Anderson did not release the shot until after the buzzer.

Anderson carries Tech with 31 points, while Scott misfires for much of the night, but finishes with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Michigan State is led by Steve Smith, who pours in 32 points.
