Yellow Jackets deliver last-second stinger to #8 Trojans in 79-78 upset.

Freshman James Forrest hits a 24-foot jumper as time expires to lift Georgia Tech into the Sweet 16 with his 1st 3-pointer of the season. Southern Cal had gone ahead 78-76 on Rodney Chatman's jumper along the baseline with 2.4 seconds left. However, the Jackets would have to last gasps, the first ended up bouncing off the foot of a USC player with 0.8 seconds left. Matt Geiger's inbounds pass finds Forrest, who turns and fires the game winner.

Georgia Tech had dominated most of the 1st half before a surge by the Trojans pulled them ahead 39-38 on Harold Miner's jumper. Miner would shake off a cold start to score 18 points and help Southern Cal open a comfortable lead in the 2nd half before the Jackets climbed back into the contest.

Georgia Tech gets 20 points from Jon Barry, and the front court of Geiger, Forrest and Malcom Mackey would combine for 43 points.
