Auburn prevails in Tommy Tuberville's return to The Grove after leaving Ole Miss to take over the Tigers' program. Trailing 27-21, Auburn rallies in the 4th quarter as Rudi Johnson breaks loose for a 42-yard TD run, and then Ben Leard adds a 1-yard TD run for insurance.

Johnson finishes with the upperhand in a showdown with Deuce McAllister. Johnson rushes for 165 yards and 2 TDs on 29 carries. However, McAllister shines as well, rushing for 104 yards and 2 TDs, and returning a punt 87 yards for another TD.
