Southern Cal comes out on the winning side as fortunes shift late, as David Newberry hits a 24-yard FG w/ :13 left in the game. Colorado had lined up for a go-ahead 40-yard FG attempt with under 2 minutes to play, but Mark Mariscal misses. Earlier, Newberry had missed his 2 attempts.

Carson Palmer and Kareem Kelly carry the Trojans, with Palmer throwing for 275 yards and 1 TD, and Kelly catching 10 passes for 145 yards. They are able to offset Marcus Houston's 150 yards rushing for the Buffaloes.
