Purple Raiders regain Division III supremacy with a 10-7 win over the Johnnies.

Rodney Chenos' 20-yard FG w/ :01 left break a 7-7 tie and lifts Mount Union to the title after its run of 3 straight titles was ended by a semifinal loss in 1999.

The Purple Raiders struck quickly with Gary Smeck's 8-yard TD pass to Adam Irgang on the opening possession. However, St. John's stalls the Mount Union attack and ties the game on Chris Moore's 1-yard TD run late in the 2nd quarter.

Mount Union's Chuck Moore is the MVP, rushing for 146 yards on 32 carries.
