Game Notes

#12 Bulldogs subdue the Wildcats 34-30.

Georgia recovers from an early 13-0 hole to overtake Kentucky in a battle of big plays and passing. Backup Corey Phillips throws for a Bulldog-record 400 yards and 4 TDs. The Wildcats' rotund doughboy Jared Lorenzen throws for 528 yards and 2 TDs.

After Lorenzen's 86-yard TD pass to Ernest Simms gives Kentucky a 20-10 lead in the 3rd quarter, Phillips answers with a 40-yard TD pass to Reggie Brown, and then breaks a 20-20 tie with an 85-yard TD pass to Damien Gary. The Wildcats tie it when Lorenzen hooks up with Quentin McCord for a 75-yard TD pass, but Georgia goes ahead for good when Phillips and Terrence Edwards combine on a 27-yard TD pass w/ 12:45 left.
