Game Notes

Fumbles prove decisive in #10 Wolverines 35-31 win over the #17 Illini.

Michigan comes out on the right side of two apparent blown fumble/non-fumble calls and then another that ends Illinois' hopes for a rally at midfield with just under 2 minutes left. Trailing 31-28, the Wolverines benefit when Rocky Harvey is ruled to have fumbled in Illinois territory when the ball comes lose after his hand it the turf.

The Wolverines convert that into a go-ahead TD after Anthony Thomas appears to have lost the ball before hitting the ground inside the 5, but no fumble is called. The final score caps rallies by Michigan after being down 21-7 and 31-21 as Drew Henson steps in and sparks the Wolverines, with the highlight being a 57-yard TD pass to David Terrell. Terrell catches 6 passes for 116 yards.

Kurt Kittner throws for a career-high 352 yards and 2 TDs.
