Northwestern wins it in the closing seconds when Zak Kustok hits Sam Simmons with an 11-yard TD pass after Anthony Thomas fumbles it away with 46 seconds left. For some reason this ridiculously long marathon ends up being celebrated as a great game, rather than the epitome of the stupidly long games that would soon dominate and ruin college football.

Kustok throws for 322 yards and 2 TDs and runs for 2 TDs. Damien Anderson rushes for 268 yards and 1 TD. Drew Henson throws for 312 yards and 4 TDs with David Terrell catching 3.
