Oregon wins when Arizona State goes for 2 after Jeff Krohn's 21-yard TD pass to Richard Williams, and the Sun Devils' pass falls incomplete. Allan Amundson's 1-yard TD run puts the Ducks ahead after a scoreless first OT.

Oregon had erased a 49-35 deficit with 2 TD passes by Joey Harrington in the final 4 minutes. Harrington throws for 434 yards and 6 TDs, with the final one coming after Arizona State fumbles while in position to run out the clock. His 17-yard TD pass to Justin Peelle ties it w/ :27 left.

Marshaun Tucker catches 11 passes for 138 yards and 3 TDs, while Keenan Howry adds 4 catches for 125 yards and 2 TDs for the Ducks. Krohn throws for 432 yards and 5 TDs, and Tom Pace rushes for 138 yards and 1 TD, and adds a TD reception for the Sun Devils.
