#21 Boilermakers burst the #18 Wildcats' bubble with a 41-28 beating.

Northwestern has no answer for Drew Brees, as the senior throws for 239 yards and 5 TDs while John Standeford catches 6 passes for 74 yards and 4 TDs. The Wildcats open a 14-7 lead in the 1st quarter, but Purdue answers with 27 straight points to wrestle control of the game.

While Brees and Standeford take care of the scoring, Montrell Lowe takes care of moving the chains, rushing for 147 yards, while Brees scrambles for 56 yards. Brees' 7-yard TD pass to Standeford ties it 14-14 before halftime, and then they combine on a 5-yarder in the 3rd quarter to take the lead for good.
