Stanford opens a 24-0 lead in the 1st half and keeps Washington State's attack smothered in the 2nd half to seal the win. The Cougars get their lone TD on a fumble return.

Meanwhile, Randy Fasani throws for 238 yards, including an 84-yard TD pass to Kerry Carter as he takes over at QB for Stanford. Carter also rushes for 53 yards and Casey Moore adds 2 TD runs for the Cardinal.
