Despite coming in with a 4-5 record, Alabama takes it to Auburn behind big days from Andrew Zow, Santonio Beard and Ahmad Galloway. Sometime starter, Zow hits 21-of-29 for 221 yards and 2 TDs with Beard rushing for 199 yards and 2 TDs, Galloway adds 114 yards rushing.

The Tigers answer an early score by Alabama with a 5-yard TD run by Ronnie Brown to tie it, but lose Carnell Williams to an injury early and have no answer for the Tide defense or 3-headed attack on offense. Zow hits Jason McAddley for a 45-yard TD pass and 14-7 halftime lead. Beard extends the lead to 21-7 with a 47-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, while the Alabama defense is holding the Tigers to just 41 yards rushing.
