Tigers beat #21 Bulldogs 24-17 with a dramatic finish.

Mark Richt inexplicably calls for a running play on 1st-and-goal as time is running out with no timeouts, and Georgia's hopes end when Jasper Shanks is stopped on the 1 and time runs out before the Bulldogs can lineup for another play. It's the 2nd defensive stop by Auburn inside its own 20 in the final 3 minutes.

The stops make a huge effort by Carnell Williams stand up. Williams rushes for 167 yards and 2 TDs, and adds 4 catches for 71 yards. Williams provides the go-ahead score with a 1-yard TD run in the 4th quarter, set up by a 61-yard screen pass from Daniel Cobb to Williams.

Williams' performance helps offset two big plays by freshman David Greene, who hits Fred Gibson for a 67-yard TD pass on the 3rd play of the game, and then adds a 66-yard TD pass to Terrence Edwards following a great play fake.
