Rainbow Warriors outlast the Mustangs 38-31 in OT.

Hawaii overcomes a pair of 90-plus yard TDs by SMU to prevail when Nick Rolovich hits Tafiti Uso for a 6-yard TD pass in OT. The Warriors appeared to have snatched victory in regulation when Thero Mitchell's 8-yard TD run gave them a 31-24 lead w/ 3:08 to play, but Jonas Rutledge returns the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for the tying score.

The Mustangs had jumped in front 24-10 on David Page's 90-yard TD pass to Johnnie Freeman, midway through the 3rd quarter. However, Hawaii rallies behind Mitchell, who rushes for 115 yards, and Rolovich, who throws for 325 yards and 2 TDs. The big play comes from the Warriors' special teams when Keith Bhonapha picks up a blocked punt and returns it 38 yards to tie it 24-24 late in the 3rd quarter.
