Miami breezes through Happy Valley behind Ken Dorsey and Clinton Portis as Larry Coker debuts as Hurricanes' coach with a thumping of Penn State. Dorsey throws for 344 yards and 3 TDs, while Portis rushes for 164 yards on 17 carries.

Miami opens with the 1st of 3 FGs by Todd Sievers, and adds to the lead with Dorsey's 27-yard TD pass to Ethenic Sands. Dorsey adds a 28-yard TD pass to Najeh Davenport and a 10-yarder to Jeremy Shockey as the Hurricanes build a 30-0 lead by halftime.
