Mean Green beats the Vandals 50-27.

North Texas earns its 1st bowl berth since 1959, rallying from an early deficit to run away from Idaho. The Vandals jump in front 19-7, but the Eagles convert 4 turnovers into 23 points to rush by Idaho.

John Welsh throws for 401 yards for the Vandals, but mistakes undo Idaho. Kevin Galbreath's 10-yard TD run late in the 1st half closes the gap to 19-14 before North Texas scores 29 straight points to start the 2nd half. Patrick Cobbs leads the Mean Green with 111 yards and 2 TDs.
