Game Notes

#21 Boilermakers prevail 35-28 over the Gophers in overtime with some official intervention.

Purdue benefits from 2 bad officials decisions, the first with officials not re-starting the clock after a 1st down w/ :01 left, instead holding off until the snap allowing Travis Dorsch to hit a 48-yard FG to send the game into OT. In the 1st series of overtime, officials rule a tying TD pass from Travis Cole to Antoine Henderson as an incompletion despite getting 1 foot down. Given a 2nd chance, Purdue forces a turnover to clinch its gift from Dick Honig's incompetent crew.

Ron Johnson catches 8 passes for 92 yards and 2 TDs for Minnesota, including a 3-yard reception from Cole early in the 4th quarter, giving the Gophers a 28-17 lead. However, Brandon Hance hits Seth Morales for a 6-yard TD pass and then Tyler Stubblefield for a 2-point conversion giving Purdue a chance to benefit later from the incompetent officiating.
