Sultan McCullough rushes for 167 yards and 3 TDs to lead USC's attack in Pete Carroll's 1st game as the Trojans coach. Carson Palmer adds 205 yards passing.

McCullough scores on runs of 14 and 35 yards in the 1st 2 quarters, helping USC open a 14-0 lead on San Jose State. However, the Trojans slow allowing the Spartans to stay close until McCullough's 7-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter makes it 21-3.
