Texas prevails in a defensive battle, scoring the go-ahead TD midway through the 4th quarter, and then converting an INT into a score to pad the margin in the final minute. Texas A&M had played the Longhorns to a draw with a stingy defensive effort to match an equally smothering performance by Texas' defense.

The Longhorns got in front when Tony Jeffery returned a blocked punt 23 yards for a TD in the 1st quarter. But Texas' offense was shutdown until the final quarter when Cedric Benson scored on a 5-yard TD run to break a 7-7 tie, before adding an 11-yard TD run in the final minute following an INT and return deep into Aggie territory by Everick Rawls.
