James Mungro rushes for 121 yards and 2 2nd-half TDs to carry Syracuse's attack. Central Florida had gone ahead 10-7 on the final play of the 1st half when Brian Miller hits Doug Gabriel on a 56-yard Hail Mary toss.

However, Mungro gave the Orangemen the lead back with his 2-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, and then adds a 16-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter. Mungro's effort helps Syracuse overcome a weak passing game that fails to spark even with a mid-game change at QB.
