Backup QB Chris Lewis leads the upset as Stanford knocks off previously unbeaten UCLA with surprising ease. After Ryan Nece returns an early fumble for a Bruins' TD, the Cardinal score the next 31 points and hold off a rally by UCLA.

Lewis throws for 250 yards and 3 TDs, all in the 1st half, and Kerry Carter rushes for 102 yards and 1 TD, and adds a TD reception. The Bruins draw within 31-28 in the 4th quarter, but Carter seals the upset with a 27-yard TD run.
