Virginia Tech strikes for 35 points in the 1st quarter and is never challenged by Arkansas State. DeAngelo Hall wraps a 68-yard punt return and 49-yard INT return for TDs around a 22-yard TD run by Lee Suggs as the Hokies jump out to a 21-0 before the 1st quarter is half over.

Virginia Tech gets another TD return when Jason Lallis returns a fumble 59 yards for a score in the 2nd quarter to make the lead 49-0. Suggs rushes for 87 yards on just 9 carries as the Hokies are able to relax in the rout.
