Game Notes
Tigers continue to own the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, beating #9 Alabama 17-7.
In a rare quirk, Auburn allows a Tide score for the 1st time in Tuscaloosa, but pulls off the upset in the 4th meeting between the 2 schools at the site.
Jason Campbell tosses a pair of TD passes to Robert Johnson in the 1st quarter to lead the Tigers' win. Campbell hits Johnson for a 14-yarder and then an 11-yarder. Tre Smith fills in for injured Auburn backs and rushes for 126 yards.
Alabama finally gets on the board after being blanked in the original meeting at Tuscaloosa in 1895, and twice in the 20th century, when Santonio Beard scores on a 1-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter.
