Louisville's offensive explosion gets put on hold as Kentucky jumps out to a 16-0 lead and uses a surprisingly strong defensive effort to quiet Dave Ragone and the Cardinals' attack. The Wildcats force 3 turnovers and sack Ragone 3 times.

Jared Lorenzen's 65-yard TD pass to Ernest Simms and Artrose Pinner's 8-yard TD pass help Kentucky build a 16-0 lead. However, Ragone hits Ronnie Ghent with a 2-yard TD pass at the end of the 1st half and Broderick Clark returns the 2nd half KO 100 yards for a TD.

The Cardinals go ahead briefly 17-16, but 2 FGs by Taylor Begley put the Wildcats ahead for good.
