After a solid opening drive resulting in a failed fake FG attempt, Colorado State is completely stymied by the Texas Christian defense, which holds the Rams to just 139 total yards and 3 points while forcing 6 turnovers. Sean Stilley breaks the scoreless deadlock with a 15-yard TD pass to Latarence Dunbar late in the 1st half.

Colorado State gets on the board with a FG in the 3rd quarter, but TCU matches it with one of its own in the 4th quarter before Ricky Madison's 4th-quarter TD run of 3 yards seals the victory. Madison rushes for 111 yards and Lonta Hobbs adds 77 yards, being the lone offensive bright spots in the game.
