Down 17-3, Louisville strikes twice in the 3rd quarter to tie it, and then wins it when Kurt Jones misses his 4th FG for Southern Miss after Nate Smith's 27-yard FG on the Cardinals' possession in the 2nd OT. Dave Ragone weathers 8 sacks by the Golden Eagles' defense in leading Louisville's comeback.

Ragone hits Joshua Tinch with a 13-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter and then follows with a 34-yard TD pass to J.R. Russell to tie it 17-17. Southern Miss had built a 17-3 lead in the 1st half on the strength of 2 TD passes by Mickey D'Angelo.
