Dan Nystrom hits 5 FGs, becoming the Big-10's career leading in FGs and scoring, while Asas Abdul-Khaliq throws for 222 yards and 1 TD to pace Minnesota. The Gophers' usually porous defense holds Arkansas to 288 yards total offense and keeps the Hogs off the board following an opening drive TD, until the closing minutes when Minnesota holds a 29-7 lead.

After Matt Jones' 2-yard TD pass to George Wilson less than 3 minutes into the game, Nystrom hits 4 FGs in the 1st half for a 12-7 lead. Abdul-Khaliq hits Ben Utecht with a 19-yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter and Thomas Tapeh adds a 33-yard TD run after Nystrom's 5th FG. Tapeh rushes for 100 yards on 18 carries.
