North Texas forces Gino Guidugli into 5 INTs and withstands a 2nd half rally by Cincinnati to win its 1st bowl game since 1946. Kevin Galbreath carries the Mean Green's attack with 130 yards and 1 TD rushing.

Guidugli's turnover problems begin after the Bearcats take a 7-0 lead. North Texas converts the 1st INT into a FG, then Patrick Cobbs follows the 3rd with a 27-yard TD run and Jeremy Pearl returns the 4th, 20 yards for a TD and 17-7 lead in the 2nd quarter. Galbreath's 35-yard TD run opens a 24-7 lead in the 3rd quarter before the Bearcats start to rally.
