#6 Trojans bury the #7 Irish 44-13.

Carson Palmer, USC dominate Notre Dame after the 1st quarter. The Trojans outgain the Irish 610-to-109 yards, holding Notre Dame to just 20 yards after the 1st quarter when it builds a 6-0 lead.

The Irish briefly regain a 13-10 lead in the 2nd quarter, converting a second special teams mistake into points by recovering a blocked punt for a TD. However, the Irish have no answers for Palmer and Mike Williams, who connect for a 2nd TD pass just before halftime. Palmer throws for 425 yards and 4 TDs, while Williams catches 10 passes for 189 yards, including 8 catches in the 1st half.
