#2 Buckeyes survive again with a 23-16 win over the Illini in OT.

Ohio State eludes upset for the 2nd straight week by making the big plays at the end. Maurice Hall scores on an 8-yard run on the Buckeyes' possession in OT, and then they win when Jon Beutjer's 4th down pass is batted down to end Illinois' upset bid.

The Illini sent the game in to OT when John Gockman hits a 48-yard FG on the final play of regulation after missing from 59 yards minutes earlier. THe Buckeyes went up 16-13 on Mike Nugent's 3rd FG. Craig Krenzel hits Michael Jenkins for a 50-yard TD pass for Ohio State's only TD of regulation.
