Boilermakers outlast the Spartans in a wild 45-42 shootout.

Kyle Orton comes off the bench for an injured Brandon Kirsch and hits John Standeford for a 40-yard TD pass and go-ahead score w/ 3:18 left on his 1st play, and then hits Taylor Stubblefield for a 2-point conversion. Standeford catches 5 passes for 136 yards and 2 TDs.

Purdue rallies for a 17-7 deficit to go ahead 31-23, before Michigan State comes back to go ahead 42-37 on David Richard's 10-yard TD run w/ 7:43 remaining. The Boilermakers had gone ahead 37-36 on the prior possession when Kirsch hits Anthony Chambers on a 33-yard TD pass. The Spartans had returned a pair of INTs for TDs.
