Chris Simms throws for 278 yards and 3 TDs as Texas dominates mistake-prone Texas A&M. The Aggies hang in early, holding the Longhorns to 3 FGs after turning the ball over 3 straight times to start the game. Texas A&M is then able to rally within 9-7 on a 12-yard TD pass from Dustin Long to Terrence Thomas.

However, Texas then responds with big plays as Simms hits B.J. Johnson on a 44-yard TD pass and Roy Williams for a 75-yard TD pass. When the Aggies pull within 23-14 in the 2nd half, the Horns respond with a 30-yard TD run by Cedric Benson, a 38-yard TD pass from Simms to Williams and then TD returns by Michael Huff and Nathan Vasher.
